Product Review – Arbonne Renewing Body Gelee

Running is a sport full of injuries – twisted ankles, stress fractures, strained IT bands, this list is endless. After running the Yonge Street 10K last weekend, I found myself with one of the stupidest of injuries.

The rookie mistake of chafing had taking another victim.

I’m a big advocate of body glide, but on Sunday my sports bra must have been sitting a little off and a bra that I have worn plenty of times with no incident unexpectantly caused the dreaded under-boob-rubbie. Ouchie.  I’d post a picture, but my mother (and common sense) always told me that posting naked pictures of myself on the internet was a bad idea – but it was essentially a nasty cut about an inch long.  And it hurt like a hurty thing.

I grumbled for a little bit about it and then realized I already had the perfect solution in my bathroom.

Arbonne Renewing Body Gelee

Arbonne is one of those companies that you can only buy product through a rep directly.  One usually gets addicted after going to a friend’s hosted party thinking “I’m not going to buy anything” and you come out shocked that you spent a bunch of money when you promised yourself you wouldn’t, but with significantly better skin than when you went in and a new outlook on skincare.  To be honest, the stuff is amazing, and it has turned me into a skin product snob.  Just the thought of buying a moisturizer at Shoppers is crazy talk now.  Only the best for my skin!

A good friend of mine is a consultant and as a dutiful friend, I hosted a party for her.  Hosting one of these type of parties is actually pretty fun (especially if there is wine) and I ended up being able to get some free stuff based on how much people bought at the party.  I couldn’t decide what else I wanted and she said “Get this – you’ll love it”.  And I did, because I still had free product to get, so what could I lose?

SAMSUNG

It says on the label that its a cooling gel that is for after sun, sports and general calming and renewing.  In reality, I think that it must be made from rainbows and unicorns because it is magical.  It can do anything.

I’ve put it on sunburns and avoided the peel.  I’ve put it on tired muscles and felt a nice cooling relief.  I’ve put it on cuts.  I lent it to a friend who had sprained her foot in heels at a wedding and couldn’t walk on it – she didn’t believe me when I said that it was magical (because it sounds like crazy talk), but now she is hooked on it.  It’s a little pricy at $56 a jar, but you don’t need much – over a year later, I’m still on my first jar and I use it all the time.  Spreads well and absorbs fast.  Gives you the tingly feeling of that Icy Hot stuff, but with a much more pleasant smell and it actually works.

And for my boob rubbie?  Immediate relief, and 24 hours later, my angry red cut became a  healed pink line.

I have no idea how it works, but I’m leaning towards wizardry.

Disclaimer: I was not paid to promote this product, nor do I work for the company.  I just simply adore it and want to share the love!  If you are interested in trying it and need an Arbonne consultant, please feel free to contact me (lindsayrunning@gmail.com) and I’ll point you in the right direction.

EDIT – June 26: I seem to be getting a kazillion hits on this page today. Someone share with me where you all are coming from?  I’m just curious 🙂

    • Hazel Western says:

HI Terry, I’ve just been reading Lindsay’s blog and testimonial about the Gelee and noticed your comment about Fibro. My colleague has fibro and I was wondering if any other Arbonne products have helped your fibro symptoms. Thanks! Hazel (Arbonne Consultant in Melbourne)

      • April says:

I’ve heard that bio-identical progesterone cream has helped people with fibro, as well as quality probiotics, and detoxing in general. Arbonne has a product called Prolief, which is bio-identical progesterone. If your friend hasn’t already, she may want to check her hormone levels with her doctor, and if she’s low on progesterone, have her talk to her or your Arbonne Independent Consultant. It has helped so many people! And again, a good quality probiotic may also give her relief (check with an Independent Consultant on that, as well). :). Very best to you and your friend!!

      • April says:

Whoops! I just realized you are a consultant! My mistake. 🙂

  8. Marsha Heald says:

      • Gisèle says:

When you feel a migraine brewing, you can prepare an Arbonne Fizz drink and with the gelee on the neck and temples, you can usually ward it off or at least gain some significant relief! email me at :

  16. Hello!!! I am an Independent Consultant in Hickory, North Carolina. We are never without Gelee in our house. Last year I accidently stepped on a bee. My foot began swelling and I was having trouble putting weight on it when my husband suggested a dab of gelee. It was incredible to watch the swelling decrease as the venom crystalized coming out of my foot!! Wish I had a video of it. Thanks so much Lindsay for being a supporter of health. 🙂

What can I say! I simply love this product! Not much of a runner, but I have the arthritic body of one who has had too many injuries in my youth, and it is so soothing! I used it just this evening, after gardening in my rose brambles, and the cuts were calmed right down, stopped bleeding and felt fine in a matter of mere seconds. Have used it on kitten claw scratches too! Can’t say enough about it!!

Thanks so much for sharing about this product… I was just like you… went to my first Arbonne party and thought, I am not going to buy anything… now I can’t use anything but Arbonne on my face, even make up… I will never buy foundation at a drug store again… its Arbonne or naked face for me… LOL! Oh and this story was passed on to me by a friend (Arbonne consultant) through FB… and I had to share it with my friends now too… enjoy the traffic at your blog!

  37. rose doyoey says:

Am a new consultant an am very glad for all the reviews

  38. Tammy Hagaman says:

I love this stuff! I put it on sunburns, and dry areas like my elbows. My daughter had a couple of mosquito bites, and asked me where the “bug medicine” was. I told her to try the gelee’ instead. She looked at me like I was nuts, but I insisted. I caught her the next day putting it on all of her bites and scrapes. I said, “Worked, huh?” She said, “I love this stuff!”

  39. Angela Harris says:

    I agree it’s magic!
Defrosting the freezer, a bowl of boiling water slid out directly onto my arms and feet! It could’ve been a trip to A&E with nasty burns but a liberal application of the Seasource Gelee and wrapping in cling film overnight literally saved my skin!! The only skin thay was burned was a thin line under my Tiffany bracelet ..an Arbonne gift from Gordon Fraser. It could’ve been a very different story.

  40. Arbonne independent consultant. Great product review. Now I want some 🙂

  41. Arlene says:

Absolutely all Arbonne consultants would love to share this “outside” review. This product is a staple in our home – next to the bread and milk! Love the Gelee!!

  42. Lynn Ranger says:

I’m also an Arbonne consultant and your description of what makes the gelee so magical is the best I’ve heard yet. Unicorns and rainbows sounds perfectly reasonable given this products effectiveness.

  43. Alaina Maeve says:

A friend of mine shared this link on Facebook today – she is an Arbonne consultant. I believe so much in the product myself, that I just became a consultant today! 🙂 Love to hear the many uses for the Body Gelee- I think this runner may be using it on future chaff issues! Thanks for the tip!

  44. Peta M says:

Would u recommend the gelee to rub on my pregnant belly to help prevent stretch marks?

  45. Love that you call it “wizardry.” It’s bloggers like you singing Arbonne’s praises that will help us consultants spread the good word. I’m in the Philadelphia area, BTW. Just shared on my FB page so hope it helps you in return! (Alison Warner – Arbonne Independent Consultant)

  46. Liz says:

From San Francisco. 🙂 Posted to my 200 person Arbonne team page.

  47. Micki Carroll says:

I tried this product once a couple of years ago and loved it…I was thinking about it now as I am drowning in sweat and wondering how I can cool down without taking a second drought-unfriendly shower. May need to plop down that crazy amount of money again!

  48. Amy Hamilton says:

Thanks for the review. I just bought some, it was part of a kit, and I wasn’t exactly sure what it was. Rainbows and unicorns, yay!!!

  49. Carly says:

Sometimes I wake up at night with a “Charlie horse” in my leg. After stomping & stretching for a bit, to no avail, I thought I’d try my renewing gelee & quickly smeared some on. It relaxed & I was back to sleep in no time! I don’t bother stomping & stretching anymore, I just put on the gelee & confidently get back in bed!!

  52. Kathe Ray says:

You can also use it as a natural deodorant. Works fantastic! katheray.arbonne.com

    • Lindsay says:

Hi Kim! I have no problem with you sharing it! Only time I questioned something was two months after I originally posted it because suddenly the post got SUPER popular with Arbonne people and I just wanted to know where everyone was coming from. I didn’t mind; I was just nosy 🙂

  57. Lisa says:

I googled a review for this product as I bought some ages ago and forgot about it. Now have something horrible on my skin which is itchy and driving me mad so put some of this feels on it hoping it sorts it. It’s currently tingling away on my skin. Hoping it works

  58. Jolene says:

I have some renewing Baricelli that is probably about six years old found in the back of my cabinet is it still good or is it an expiration date I do not see one on the jar

    • Jolene says:

That was to say Arbonne renewing gelee. Does it expire?

      • Lindsay says:

I don’t know but my consultant friend says that most Arbonne products are generally good up to 24 months after opening. There may be a a little picture of an open jar with a number in it on the jar – that is how long it is good after opening.

My personal opinion is as long as the texture is right and the smell isn’t funky, there shouldn’t be any harm in trying*

*I am not a doctor – if you spontaneously combust from using old products, I am not responsible.

  59. Cindy Evans says:

I have used it for back aches and achilles tendon pain and it worked wonders. My dog recently hurt his foot at the dog park and although the vet said it wasn’t borken, he has been limping for three weeks now. While I was putting it on my achilles heel yesterday morning I look at the dog and think, well why not try it. Guess what? He put pressure on his foot for the first time in three weeks yesterday. I gave his foot another rub with it this morning and called my consultant and told her I will be needing to order more.

  60. T says:

So question….body gelee is more like a lotion not a shower gel? I recently bought Michael Kors Island Capri perfume and body gelee and couldn’t figure out what it was lol.

  61. Cindy says:

My daughter hosted a party and Arbonne is awsome. I back this up 100 %
